Polk Audio EX 2540

For dashboard speakers my choice was the Polk Audio EX 2540 System. After altering the chassis it fits perfect in the original grill without doing any changes. Only the original speaker has to be destroyed in order to get its frame and plug.

The first picture shows the original speaker on cars without sound system. The second shows the speaker of a sound system in disassembled condition. The black bracket surrounding the speaker is the part needed to attach other speakers to the original grill.

 

The Polk Audio speaker is attached to the bracket with epoxy resin. 

  

The tweeter is attached directly to the grill with epoxy resin. In cars without a sound system, the opening for the tweeter is sealed with a plastic lid and you have to drill a hole depending to the size of the tweeter.

I disassembled the crossover and put it back together, in a way that it fits under the grill. The original Porsche plug is also integrated in the altered printed circuit board.
