Kicker 6.5''c under Passenger Seat

The installation of a subwoofer underneath the passenger seat is a problematic task especially if the car is equipped with powered seats. I could make it work to put in a Kicker 6.5" in a vented Box. A slight disadvantage is that the forward distance of the passenger seat has to be limited. If you have powered seats the subwoofer dimensions are very limited. 6.5'' is the maximum size. The mount depth is so small that the Kicker 6.5'' was the only one which meet the requirements.

The picture shows the frame which I build in to attach the subwoofer with his lit sealed to the car.

The mount depth is so little that the speaker has to sit in an angle on the lit. Because of the very little capacity of the box I have chosen a vent.  The vent pipe is sitting outside of the box and takes care of an additional capacity this way. In assembled condition the vent is sitting parallel to the front seat edge. The wiring for the seat leaves the box in the middle of the rear edge.

In order to get enough room for the Subwoofer a view little modifications on the Seat are necessary. The motor for the seat forward-backward motion has to be bend as far as possible upwards and the flexible drive shaft has to go above the cross shaft. This is easy to do .The plug for the seat electric has to be transferred to a place further back. Make sure in every position of the seat there is no draw on the wires. Also the clamps for the seat forward motion limitation have to be placed on the gear drive that way that when the seat is up the rear tightening screws are just reachable.
